Description

Hackett Postgraduate Research Scholarships are prestigious scholarships funded from the Hackett Bequest, established by Sir John Winthrop Hackett, the first Chancellor and a generous benefactor to the University of Western Australia.

They are awarded by the HDR Scholarships Committee to the top-ranked domestic applicants in the annual domestic scholarships round. The scholarships provide a stipend and a travel allowance to support research overseas.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, an applicant must—

i) meet the requirements for entry to the nominated course;

ii) be eligible to be enrolled as a full-time and internal domestic student, unless the University approves otherwise;

iii) not be receiving income from another source to support their general living costs while undertaking their course of study if that income is greater than 75% of their stipend rate. Income unrelated to the course of study or income related to the course of study not for the purpose of supporting general living costs is not taken into account; and 

iv) meet any eligibility criteria as listed in the scholarship conditions.
