Higher Degree by Research Application Portal

Applications are invited from suitably qualified international applicants for the UWA International Fee Scholarship to undertake a Master by Research or Doctorate by Research. 

Successful awardees can expect to become members of research teams working under the direction of senior researchers across any discipline.

These scholarships are funded by The University of Western Australia and cover international tuition fees for up to four (4) years, as well as Overseas Student Health Cover for the awardee and dependents. 

Successful awardees may also be awarded a full living allowance (stipend) scholarship, valued at AUD $35,000 per annum.

To apply for this scholarship an applicant must—

have a history of outstanding academic achievement.

• meet the requirements for entry to the nominated course.
• be a citizen of an overseas country, excluding New Zealand.
• meet the University’s English language competency requirements.
• not already in receipt of an equivalent award or scholarship from the Australian Government designed to offset HDR fees.
• intend to enrol as a full-time student at one of the University's campuses.
• meet eligibility criteria listed in the scholarship conditions.

This scholarship is available in the following rounds:

• 2025 International Scholarship Round (closing date 31 August 2024).
• International graduates of UWA may also apply in the 2025 Domestic and UWA International Graduates Round (Open 1 September 2024 - 31 October 2024).
