TitleEmbedding Frailty into Nursing Education and Practice: Implications for Curriculum Reform and Clinical Practice
CourseDoctor of Philosophy
Description

We invite applications for a PhD scholarship focused on strengthening frailty knowledge and education within the nursing profession.

Frailty is a growing health challenge, yet there are significant gaps in how it is understood and taught across health professions. This project will begin with a review to identify barriers, enablers, and key knowledge gaps in health professionals’ understanding of frailty. A national survey will then map current frailty content within nursing curricula, providing an evidence base for targeted improvements.

Building on this foundation, the candidate will facilitate the co-design of the integration of frailty education resource into nursing curricula. The project will culminate in the evaluation of this frailty education program, providing critical evidence on its impact and potential for wider adoption.

This PhD offers a unique opportunity to generate practice-changing research that directly informs workforce development and improves care for older Australians living with frailty.
