Both domestic and international PhD Applicants from the fields of Organisational Behaviour and Industrial and Organisational Psychology are sought to join a research team comprised of Professor Gillian Yeo, Dr Joseph Carpini, and Dr Laura Fruhen at the University of Western Australia, Business School.

Applicants are encouraged to create their own proposals integrating some of the key areas of interest that make a clear and substantial contribution to the literature.

This PhD position is part of a wider prestigious Australian Research Council (ARC) grant that explores the development of new fire safety materials and regulations across Australia. Applicants will have the opportunity to craft the project in line with their  own interests in so far as they complement those of the research team. A target area of application for some aspect of the PhD project will need to be connected to fire safety, which may involve research with firefighters, disaster response teams, administrative staff of fire safety regulatory bodies, teams in companies developing renewable energy, or other. Alternatively, applicants may have a particular interest in fire safety, which can be fully integrated into their research.

Eligibility

Check the Requirements:

(1) students must have successfully completed a dissertation or thesis by research worth at least 25% of their final degree;

(2) have a WAM of 80+ (or equivalent, see https://www.ask.uwa.edu.au/app/calculator/wam);

(3) have recent IELTS scores of 7 or above on all dimensions;

(4) must articulate a clear link between their research experience and interests and those of the research team (in full or part).
